About the job

We are looking for a Junior Media Analyst to support media monitoring reporting and analysis activities within one of the European Union Institutions on-site in this role you will help transform media data into actionable insights track media coverage across EU Member States and contribute to reports analyses and visualizations that support communication and public outreach activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with an interest in media communications and European affairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track media coverage across a variety of sources and channels.
• Compile and classify articles editorials opinion pieces and other media content related to specific topics.
• Produce regular and ad hoc media monitoring reports.
• Identify and report on key performance indicators and media coverage trends.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of media coverage and media performance.
• Analyze the presence and visibility of European Union Institutions across different media sources and platforms.
• Support the creation of reports summaries presentations and infographics.
• Map media landscapes and identify emerging media trends across EU Member States.
• Process manage and validate large datasets from multiple sources.
• Contribute to the drafting editing and quality review of analytical content and reports.
• Ensure data is presented in a clear accessible and visually impactful manner.

Profile requirements

• Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Media Studies Political Science Data Analytics Marketing or a related field.
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical research and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working with data including Excel and other data management tools.
• Ability to handle large volumes of information and extract meaningful insights.
• Strong drafting editing and reporting capabilities.
• Good knowledge of information systems and data processing methods.
• Understanding of accessibility principles and their application in communications.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with tact diplomacy and professionalism.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desired Assets

• Knowledge of the EU media landscape and media ecosystems across Member States.
• Familiarity with media monitoring and media intelligence tools.
• Experience creating data visualizations dashboards and infographics.
• Understanding of media performance metrics and reporting methodologies.
• Knowledge of one or more additional European Union languages.
• Experience working with or for EU Institutions international organizations public affairs consultancies communications agencies or media organizations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI Tableau or similar platforms.
• Interest in European affairs public policy media trends and strategic communications.
