Position: Project Engineer -Rentals & Services
Department Reports To: Intervention Engineering Manager
Summary:
Trendsetter Engineering provides the Subsea Oil and Gas Industry with custom designed solutions for production, intervention, capping, and containment. The Project Engineer (Engineer) is primarily responsible for performing and leading engineering tasks associated with capping stacks, connectors, and other Rentals and Services assets. The role requires a motivated individual with cross-functional skills to excel in detailed design, customer support, and project engineering. This position will be primarily based from the Trendsetter office located in Houston, TX, but may require occasional travel in support of field operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineer and technical point of contact for long term capping stack consortium client needs.
- Lead technical support for rental equipment (outside of intervention systems).
- Engineering lead for manufactured equipment- including new equipment and modifications to existing assets.
- Perform engineering analysis including FEA for structural, lifting, pressure containing, and hydraulic design purposes.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise for Rentals and Services in areas including equipment design, assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance. Generate and revise 3D models of existing and new build intervention systems and ancillary equipment assets.
- Generate detailed multi-view manufacturing drawings including detail such as weld call outs, bearing fits, finishes, materials of construction, coatings, and quality requirements.
- Author and approve field manuals and procedures.
- Manage operating manuals, repairs, and maintenance for department assets.
- Manage handovers of equipment between Trendsetter Projects team and Rentals & Services departments. Clearly communicate design requirements for various project scopes.
- Coordination of support with third party companies and Trendsetter departments as required.
- Support Intervention projects in design, FEA, and procedures as required.
- Provide input for the continued improvement of existing processes and assets. Contribute to the development of new techniques and technology in support of subsea operations.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Engineering Degree from an EAC/ABET accredited program.
- E.I.T. Certification or passed FE exam preferred
- Experience and Skills: o Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering design and approval processes o Minimum of 2 years experience in subsea equipment design o Proficient in SolidWorks and ANSYS modeling software o Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, MS Project)
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and Mathcad software
