About The Role
Our partner is looking to hire a great Tourism Destination Manager to join their team. Your primary focus on this role would be provide travel, hospitality and accommodation information and services, promote tourism, and assess tourist opportunities.
What do you need to do to be considered successful?
You will also be responsible for:
- Arrange bookings and documentation for travel and accommodation, and collect payment
- Assist travel agents and tour operators in preparing itineraries for tourists
- Make suggestions on tours, travel routes, accommodation and local attractions
- Provide literature and information on local, interstate and international tours and places of interest
- Discuss transport, accommodation and tour availability and cost
- Answer questions from tourists, visitors, local residents and other tourism industry colleagues, in person, over the phone, via email or online
- Developing strategies to increase tourism to the area through promotion of attractions, accommodations, events, or other offerings
- Establishing relationships with travel suppliers such as airlines, cruise lines, hotels, car rental agencies, etc.
How important are you to the bottom line?
You will be incharge of managing the day-to-day operations of their organization s tourism services.
The biggest problem-solving duties on the Job
You will oversee all aspects of this unit, from marketing and sales to customer service.
What do you need to have done in your career?
- Proven experience in Tourism or Hospitality industry and a Certification.
- Bachelor s degree in business, tourism management, chamber of commerce or related field
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing plans
- Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in tourism
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and expenses
- Fluency in more than one language
- In-depth knowledge of destination marketing principles
