Our products are used in production environments as well as research and development centers, both academic and corporate. CVD Equipment Corporation, located in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a System Test Technician who is responsible for testing and troubleshooting medium to large semiconductor, nanotechnology and industrial process equipment, and sub-assemblies including the operation and maintenance of automated process control equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Proactively adhere to all safety standards and established protocols.
  • Execute a test plan that will meet product specification objectives.
  • Diagnose and repair electronics equipment, components, and assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot faulty components and systems; correct problems.
  • Using Electrical Testing tools, such as multi-meters, circuit testers, etc., diagnose circuit, component, and equipment faults of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Personal Computers (PCs).
  • Document, track, and escalate quality issues as appropriate through accurate, clear, and concise reports.


Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Associates Degree or Trade School or equivalent work experience in Electrical/Electro-mechanical discipline.
  • 1-3 years of related experience working with electrical/electronic principles and applications; pneumatic systems; automated control systems including PLC hardware, ladder logic programing; and analog/digital IC circuitry.


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency using test equipment such oscilloscopes and gas system leak testers.
  • Wiring and harnessing experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Industrial Process equipment and operation.
  • Working proficiency with Windows OS, and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blue prints and schematics.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability.
  • Diagnostic, and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Self-starter, highly organized and resourceful.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills, with a high level of efficiency, and attention to detail.
