Job Overview:
Our company is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent with expertise in concrete high-rise construction to oversee and manage construction projects in the Vancouver construction market. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in building towers and a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the construction project, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety
- Supervise and manage a team of subcontractors and on-site staff, ensuring they are meeting project goals and objectives
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including identifying critical paths, lead times, and constraints, to ensure timely project completion
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications and requirements are met
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Monitor and control project costs, including managing and negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including the project manager, clients, and other contractors
- Attend and conduct regular meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to provide progress reports and resolve any issues that may arise
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in high-rise concrete construction
- Proven experience in managing and supervising construction projects
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick and effective decisions
- Experience with Microsoft Office and project management software
