Structural Engineer - Lead

Growing traditional consulting firm looking to add a talented Lead Structural Engineer to their Chicago area office!

• Develop scope, fee, and contract
  
• Communicate project deliverables to staff
  
• Oversee technical direction of the project
  
• Participate in project meetings to keep project on time and on budget
  
• Serve as an advisor on highly specialized, complex and/or strategic projects
  
• Project Manager duties for some projects
  
• Assist with business development
  
• Assist with completion of proposals and interview process
  
• Use knowledge of legal, regulatory, and environmental trends to give firm a competitive edge with current/new clients
  
• Participate in professional and technical associations
  
• Meet/exceed client expectations
  
• Mentor junior staff
  
• Analyze staff needs and match staff to appropriate projects
  

• B.S. degree in engineering
  
• M.S. in a related engineering preferred
  
• S.E. or P.E. registration
  
• 8+ years of engineering/design experience
  
• Bridge and other transportation project experience
  
• Experience working on DOT preferred
  
• Experience as a Lead Structural Engineer
  
• Proficient in MS Office, MicroStation and structural design software
