Lakeside has been engaged by one of the largest distributors of top-quality aftermarket collision parts for repair shops in East Coast of the US. Their unsurpassed reputation for part quality, order accuracy, speed-to-delivery and overall value has been earned and proven since the mid-1980s. With over 30 locations, and growing, they are looking for their first Sr. HRBP to lead and support the HR Business Partner team.

Reporting to the VP of HR, our client is looking for someone who is passionate about delivering the highest quality of HR Services to their employees and leaders. This is a new role within the organization and will have 7 direct reports, located across the US. This person will be responsible for all aspects of managing the human resources business partner function in alignment with the Company’s mission, values and objectives and in compliance with applicable employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of regional HRBPs, with management responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, coaching and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Challenges others to develop as leaders, while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the Human Resources department to include work performance, team development and alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain consistent, relevant best practices and systems for job descriptions, recruitment, employee onboarding, performance management/reviews, recognition, employee communication, etc.
  • Oversee the employee experience, including employee onboarding processes, employee surveys and stay/exit interviews.
  • Provide human resources policy guidance and interpretation on topics such as hiring, benefits, compensation, employee relations issues, performance coaching and disciplinary action.
  • Develop, recommend, and communicate Human Resources policies and practices that comply with State and Federal laws and are consistent with organizational philosophy. Monitor compliance with policies and practices.
  • Develop and monitor metrics and analytics used to evaluate effectiveness of various human resources programs and activities.
  • Ensure completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, documentation, files and electronic records.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner to improve work relationships, build employee engagement and increase productivity and retention.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve customers concerns and enhance efficiencies.
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with established Company systems, policies and procedures.
  • Keep supervisor(s) and other members of management informed of human resources progress, issues and successes.
  • Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for continuous performance and process improvements.
  • Work continually toward professional development to stay current on relevant industry trends and human resources, training and development and supervisory procedures and practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and a minimum 7-10 years of human resources experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience required. Experience leading a Human Resources team preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company is preferred.
  • Experience working in a private equity company is preferred.
  • Human Resources certification preferred (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Proven ability to be able to be a “roll up your sleeves” leader and also be able provide strategic support to the business leaders.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS platforms required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to compose concise and clear correspondence, reports and manuals.
  • Ability to guide others and provide work direction. Ability to speak, effectively present information and respond to questions before groups of employees, customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and best practices to make responsible, legal and compliant decisions.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving, conflict management and decision-making on sensitive and confidential issues.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and to coordinate and administer complex administrative systems and processes.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and work with established deadlines.
  • Strong customer service (internal and external) focus.

This position requires 40% travel to other locations.
