Senior User Experience Researcher remote

As a User Researcher, you will be responsible for leading and executing our research strategy, informing our user-centered design process by establishing and maintaining relationships with our users, and planning and conducting usability studies. Role and Responsibilities

• Experience with research design utilizing various methods including usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys
• Strong focus on qualitative research methodologies
• Ability to define research goals and scope, plan (scripts, methodology, recruiting users, etc.), and conduct studies
• Ability to synthesize user research findings to help inform product direction and design by working closely with Engineering, Product & Design, and other functions
• Cultivate relationships with our customers through user research and cross-functional communication with other team members
• Travel to plants/factories to conduct studies and to continually get to know and keep in touch with our users
• Ability to effectively work with internal and cross-functional teams/partners to understand requirements and constraints of research initiatives
• An understanding of behavioral and attitudinal research methodologies, and when, as well as how to apply each
• Establish the User Research function at Sight Machine by incorporating user research into our process, building a test cadence, internal education and maintaining external relationships

Skills and requirements

• You have 5+ years of experience defining, planning, and conducting user research
• You are an independent self-starter but aren t afraid to ask for help
• MS in HCI / MA in Psychology or related field is a huge plus
• Enterprise software experience is a huge plus
• This is a remote role with occasional travel to the SF or Ann Arbor offices. It might not happen often, but it will help you get to know the team, our goals, as well as our mission.
• You can relate to being humble, hungry, and smart
• You can showcase a portfolio of previous work
• We use Axure, Figma and Miro, but the choice of tools is yours
