We re hiring! We re looking for a smart, innovative Key Account Manager to join our growth team and help us change the way people send and receive parcels. Successful candidates must be social, analytical, possess an aptitude for learning and be able to communicate clearly and effectively. The ideal Key Account Manager should engage with customers, maximize value, and create strategies to grow our customer base.

The Role

  • Key Account Management: Develop and implement strategic plans to effectively manage key client accounts, focusing on building strong relationships and driving growth opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships. Understand their business objectives, challenges, and needs, and proactively provide solutions to meet their expectations.
  • Account Growth and Retention: Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing key accounts to maximize revenue. Develop account growth strategies and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve growth targets. Ensure high customer retention rates through excellent service delivery.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as a customer advocate within the organization, representing the clients interests and needs. Liaise between the client and internal teams to ensure effective communication and seamless execution of requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and conditions, pricing agreements, and service level agreements with key clients. Ensure contracts are mutually beneficial and aligned with the companys goals.
  • Growth and Forecasting: Conduct customer research and analysis to identify trends, market opportunities, and potential risks. Use this information to develop growth strategies, forecast customer targets, and make informed business decisions.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support, to deliver comprehensive solutions and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track key account performance metrics, such as revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and retention rates. Prepare regular reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and growth plans.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues that may impact key account relationships or business objectives. Proactively address customer concerns and ensure timely resolution of any issues or escalations.
  • Industry Knowledge and Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies relevant to the clients businesses. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the customer relationship management (CRM) system for key accounts. Regularly update client profiles, contact details, interactions, and account activities to ensure a comprehensive and accurate view of client relationships. Utilize the CRM system to track account progress, document customer communications and activity.


Requirements

  • 5 years Key Account Management experience (or equivalent)
  • Enterprise and consultative selling experience
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalant
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Self-driven and proactive nature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and mentorship qualities
  • High computer literacy and ability to learn new software
  • Experience in proposal writing and client presentations
  • Patient and active listener
  • Passion for Service
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record
  • Great negotiation and closing skills
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Team player who works well collaboratively, while being driven by your own personal goals and targets
  • Based in Cape Town and can be in our office in Gardens
