Our client designs and delivers a portfolio of environmentally friendly solutions that support corporate sustainability goals and objectives. The portfolio includes commercial solar systems, microgrid systems, outdoor lighting systems powered by solar, and LED lighting retrofits for indoor and outdoor commercial and industrial companies.

Our client is seeking an experienced, self-starter, self-motivated sales executive to drive rapid growth and business development. This position leads all sales activities in a defined geographical region with target customer groups including commercial and industrial real estate owners and developers, state and local governments, universities, and other vertical segments.

This role reports directly to the Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.


  • Establish strategies and plans to expand our customer base in the assigned region.
  • Develop additional sales channels to increase project opportunities in the region.
  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities sufficient to achieve annual sales goal.
  • Maintain all sales activity records in the company CRM tool.
  • Respond to and manage any RFP's by driving the process with cross-functional, internal and external partners.
  • Sales and Activity reports should be provided to management on a regular basis.
  • Identify, generate, and develop sales leads and take them through sales process.
  • Attend trade shows and other events during the year to create new leads and project opportunities.
  • In conjunction with management, provide pricing intel to ensure development of competitive pricing models.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry trends and developments, as well as competitor activities and strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage competitive analysis and ongoing competitive and market landscape.


  • Candidate must have experience working for or with commercial real estate owners, developers, or construction companies.
  • Experience with municipal and county governments and or universities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of renewable technology, energy efficiency and sustainability business process is preferred.
  • Commercial and industrial rooftop solar experience greatly preferred.
  • NABCEP Technical Sales Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to perform (or be taught to perform) basic site surveys as needed to gather information for engineering.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to C-level management, boards of directors and large groups.


  • Minimum BS, BA Degree with MBA Preferred
  • Experience with solar system modeling software is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or comparable CRM platform
