Micro Electronics Assembler
Pay Rate: $22 - $24/hr
1st Shift (6:30 am - 3:00 pm)


Job Designation

  • The Product Assembler completes work according to instructions, specifications and procedures. Conducts a variety of assembly and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Wire-bonding experience with aluminum and/or gold wire of 1 mm-3mm diameter
  • Micro-Electronics production experience in cleanroom environment
  • Exceptional dexterity working with components the size of a grain of sand (~0.06mm to 2.0mm)
  • Will view parts through microscope for extended periods of time
  • Electronic board handling experience, hand-built micro-electronic PC boards
  • Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
  • Reviews shop traveler route card, or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
  • Position very small parts such as ceramic board, crystals, gages, fine pins, fire wire, solder particles and epoxy under binocular microscope using tweezers or positioning fixtures
  • Adjusts, bends, aligns and solders fine wires to resistors and base parts
  • Bonds or seals parts or assemblies with epoxies using direct heating elements or ovens and performs a variety of in-process testing
  • Operating wire boding equipment
  • Sets up test equipment and tests per specification
  • Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level
  • Provides detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering
  • Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

  • Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
  • Years Experience: 2 years or more of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics
  • Skilled in the use of test equipment, hand tools, power tools and electric soldering
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications


Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend or stoop. May have possible exposure to dust, may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 25 pounds 25% of the time and may require repetitive motions, pushing, pulling, and grasping with hands 25% - 75%.
