Job Description

Req ID : 1900957

Our client is a mobile Occupational Therapy provider based in Kingston, just outside Hobart, with clients across Tasmania.

You and #x27;ll ideally be based in the Hobart or Launceston area and must have access to a car as you and #x27;ll be working with clients in their homes or another suitable place at least 40% of the time.

If you are not already a Tasmanian resident, it and #x27;s something worth thinking about;

  • Affordable housing
  • Idyllic environment
  • Sense of community

Tasmania has much to offer -spectacular scenery, unique flora and fauna, a refreshing climate and a rich heritage, all in a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. But, most importantly, Hobart offers a lifestyle unsurpassed by other major population centres in Australia.

Tasmania averages 12c in winter and 23c in summer, enjoying four distinct seasons. This makes it easy to enjoy the wide range of recreational pursuits available. Many Tasmanians live less than one hour from a beach or a World Heritage Wilderness area. Hobart is one of Australia and #x27;s most exciting, lively and innovative arts centres, home to many artists, craftspeople and visual and performing arts organisations.

If you are a recent OT graduate or a seasoned therapist, we and #x27;d love to hear from you, and there are multiple roles available.

We are looking for someone with an exceptional work ethic and a commitment to service the Tasmanian community. At the organisation and #x27;s heart is a down-to-earth approach with a commitment to open and honest communication; service is with a HUGE smile.

You and #x27;ll join an existing team of five therapists, including the organisation and #x27;s profoundly passionate Founder.

A laptop and mobile phone is provided with a car allowance to enable you to get the job done.

You and #x27;ll be responsible for your schedule and its full-time hours, BUT you can choose when to work with your client and #x27;s needs.

You and #x27;ll be;

  • Assessing and diagnosing clients and #x27; health conditions
  • Identifying solutions and recommending home modification, functional capacity, community access, assistive technology and other standardised assessments.
  • Supporting access to reasonable and necessary support through the preparation of reports.
  • Assisting clients in implementing identified support strategies, including setting up assistive technology and coordinating with other service providers
  • Monitoring client progress and determining the efficacy of strategies implemented through an ongoing care plan
  • Applying interventions to maximise safety and performance in activities of daily living
  • Guiding and educating family members and other caregivers.

Full training on how to work successfully as an NDIS practitioner is provided if you are new to the space.

Overseas applicants with at least two years of professional experience are welcomed, and support with Visa applications can be provided for suitable candidates.
