This position is responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to create three dimensional images of tissue, organs and other body parts that are used by radiologists to detect abnormalities, make diagnoses and treat patients. The MRI Technologist will report in-person to a specific location in Houston, TX and must be willing to work night shift (7p-7a) and every other weekend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for MRI exam, explain procedure, administer contrast when necessary, position patients for the MRI scanner, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of the scan.
- Enter and monitor patient data.
- Perform quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
- Identify and report any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
- Take emergency call within the department.
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Requirements
- Must be willing to work night shift (7p-7a) and every other weekend.
- Must have 3 years of hospital experience.
- Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT-MR; OR
- Registered Radiological Technologist by the (ARRT-R) AND Registered MRI Technologist by the (ARMRIT).
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
