SUMMARY:
This position supports the supply/capacity planning community through process and technology subject matter expertise. The primary objective of this role is to drive improvements through technology, processes, and people. Specific responsibilities include: assisting planners with modeling production network and inventory strategy changes in the planning tool; capturing issues identified by planners and working with IT to diagnose and resolve; testing logic and technical changes with IT and planners; maintaining and delivering a training plan that includes a course outline, handbooks, reference pages, and refresher materials on a recurring basis; and collaborating with supply planning leadership to influence process maturity and continuous improvement. Planning tool support is primary focused within SAP Integrated Business Planning (S&OP Supply, Inventory Optimization, Control Tower) and SAP S4 ERP. This role may help support various reporting solutions such as Sharepoint, Analysis for Excel (AFE), and Tableau.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in discipline related to this position.
Experience: 6 plus years of experience in Supply Chain and planning processes tools preferred. A background in SAP software is strongly preferred.
Computer Skills: Advanced in: Microsoft Excel PowerPoint, Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook, Sharepoint; Knowledge of: SQL and Microsoft Access.
Communication Skills: Advanced written and verbal communication skills; ability to motivate and inspire cooperation as well as instruct and teach; ability to influence; ability to network with Tyson's operations and logistics associates; ability to communicate to a variety of levels users business owners, IT Support analysts, etc. on system capabilities, process changes, enhancement requests, system configurations, etc.
Special Skills: Extensive problem solving skills to understand user needs and translate them into system requirements for the IT support team as well as the ability to develop and implement process improvements; excellent understanding of how the Supply/Capacity Planning process works, how Demanding Planning is performed, and how the two processes work together; technical skills and aptitude to investigate, develop, propose, and implement system configurations, basic SQL programming and data modeling; detailed analytical skills to review system output and develop and maintain applicable performance metrics.
Travel: Varies based on situation. Typically 3-6 domestic trips per year.
