As the Lead Architect, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing architectural projects throughout all phases, from conceptual design to construction. With a minimum of five years of architectural experience, you will possess expertise in residential developments and have the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Revit, excellent written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the desire to contribute to a robust and busy in-house design team are essential for this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive rezoning, site plan, and permit packages for low and mid-rise residential projects, including medium-density townhouses spanning three to four stories.
- Collaborate with the Architectural Manager and team members on architectural design, detailing, and documentation.
- Coordinate closely with internal planning, marketing, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Utilize software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Adobe Photoshop to create conceptual site plans.
- Provide support to the in-house senior architect in the development of high-rise and mid-rise project packages.
- Coordinate with external architects during site plan, tender, and permit administration phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture from an accredited university or an Architectural Technologist diploma from an accredited college.
- Minimum of 5+ years of architectural experience in residential development and/or construction environments, preferably with a home builder or architectural consultant.
- Experience in consultant coordination.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
- Extensive expertise in producing and reviewing working drawings using Revit.
- Familiarity with City By-Laws and coordination of submission to authorities.
- Strong team-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Certifications:
- BCIN & OAA certifications.
