Financial Manager - Swellendam

Summary of the Opportunity
The primary responsibility of this position is to understand and oversee the major contributors that determine the profitability of the company. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for continuously reviewing of business processes to remove inefficiencies, to instill financial awareness in operational processes and to negotiate best possible outcomes on critical transactions.


Key Deliverables
Develop thorough understanding of market environments and assist with pricing models for both procurement and sales
Price risk management in conjunction with the trading team
Formulation, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and accounting processes
Safeguarding company assets such as Inventory and Fixed Assets at the company.
Reporting on profitability of business products as well as driving optimization of product mix based on the most profitable product lines after all costs have been taken into account.
Lead the business through the annual costing cycles, partnering with the Commercial / Operations / Procurement Teams to factor in commodity price and manufacturing changes as well as the reporting on the impact of this.
Drive a culture of high performance and value add within the finance team and wider business, through motivating, inspiring and coaching.
Co - lead on the P&L budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to improve accuracy and provide early visibility of potential risks and opportunities.
Identification and critical review / implementation of measures to reduce redundant costs in the business, including a reduction in the working capital cycle.
Co - lead negotiations on finance transactions with respective stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements


Qualification and Experience
CA(SA)
Up to date knowledge of IFRS
At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role coupled with staff management would be deemed suitable for the level of the position.
Experience in a Manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

SAP experience/knowledge would be highly recommended
Computer Literacy on all MS Office Packages with specific referent to Excel, advanced level
Sound report writing skills
Good analytical skills with attention to detail
Understanding of business and financial acumen
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong administration and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal and organizing skills
Ability to understand and deal with diverse cultures
