LINQM is adding an Electrical Engineer.
Specific Responsibilities:
Creating and reviewing engineered drawings and submittals for:
Code compliance NEC/CEC, NFPA, California Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire/Hazardous Materials.
Correct voltage drop and subsequent conductor sizing.
Correct overcurrent protective device sizing, types, accessories to match existing and new system installations.
Correctly represented single line diagrams.
Correctly represented lighting layout drawings that comply with Title 24 Energy Code limitations
Correctly designed grounding and bonding of electrical systems and tool installations.
Correctly represented security, BMS/FMS, IT/Data systems
Ensuring system modifications are in compliance with Standards and Specifications, Code requirements and engineered design documents.
Reviewing components of manufacturing systems or industrial equipment and their electrical connections to compile information necessary to provide a complete design and electrical engineering recommendations.
Development of high quality and thoroughly coordinated electrical construction drawings with an emphasis on constructability.
Learning the electrical craft expertise essential in the performance of electrical installations by qualified electricians.
Assist with the coordination, preparation, and safe execution of electrical outages to complete installation or modification of circuits in Facilities electrical panels, panelboards, and substations.
Assist in-house and contractor electricians/mechanics in troubleshooting circuit and system issues to ensure quick resolution of manufacturing production process interruptions.
Application of Codes, Regulations and Standards such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, NFPA 70B (Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), ANSI, NEMA, UL, NEIS and others as applicable, to the design and installation of electrical circuits and equipment.
Collaborating with multi-discipline team members for equipment failure investigations and root-cause analyses to determine and mitigate common failure modes for critical equipment,
Determining proper relay, circuit breaker and fuse tripping settings for proper circuit selective coordination in accordance with the NEC/CEC and IEEE Standards to promote maximum system and personnel safety as well as production uptime.
Performing electrical system short circuit, device coordination and arc flash hazard analysis using SKM Power Tools software
Prepare for and participate in coordinated multi-discipline project reviews.
Assist with development of Scope of Work, Basis of Design, and Sequence of Operation documents.
Collaborate closely with external and in-house electrical construction teams to provide safe, efficient, effective electrical construction installations in all environments.
Manufacturing equipment design reviews and site visits to review construction of equipment and coordinate utility connections/designs.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or directly related discipline, concentrating in industrial electrical engineering and construction, in an ABET-accredited institution.
Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in engineering consulting, facilities engineering, commissioning, construction roles for clients in heavy industry, manufacturing, high technology, or mission critical industry sectors.
Earned the EIT certificate. Electrical PE a plus.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to prepare and present reports and PowerPoint type presentations is essential.
Proven familiarity with low voltage systems up to 600 VAC, medium voltage systems from 601VAC to 35KV, the Code requirements for construction installation and operating of such systems
Excellent computer skills using the Microsoft Office platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.)
Competency in the following software tools: BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks.
Experience with SKM Power-Tools Electrical System Analysis Software.
