The Controls Software engineer will work in a machining environment with duties to design, setup, startup, commission, debug and run-off machines without continuous supervision. Work with project managers to execute per project timeline. Interfacing with customers on shop floor and carry over to customers site for final acceptance.
Essential Functions
Be part of project design decisions with Mechanical engineers and management.
Able to read electrical prints to modify and implement changes.
Develop PLC program from scratch is a plus.
Experience with one or more of the following programming languages (Ladder, STL, SCL, G-code, Visual Basic, C/C++).
Experience with one or more of the following Software, Siemens Step 7, Starter, WinCC Flexible 2008, TIA Portal, Sinumerik 840D, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Factory Talk Studio, Botch/Rexroth IndraWorks.
Understanding of industrial network communications Ethernet, ProfiNet, Profibus, Canbus, Arcnet, RS232, RS485.
Must be willing to work extended hours when required.
Assist Project Management to maintain customer contact through meetings and presentations.
Understand mechanical print layouts.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed per project when required.

Work Environment
This job operates in an office and indoor industrial shop floor setting and requires presence and travels to customer s place.

Required Education and Experience
Associates or bachelor s in electrical engineering or other relevant area such as Computer Science, or 5+ years in related experience.
Must be a team-oriented person with the ability and desire to monitor, motivate, and train staff members.
GM GCCH, GCCS certification a plus
