Key Responsibilities
- Craft innovative motor, power electronic, and thermal control algorithms
- Model dynamic systems to validate stability and performance
- Collaborate closely with hardware specialists to fine-tune the design
- Work with the team to determine the optimal sensors and hardware for controls
- Write control software for DSPs and FPGAs
- Design and run a thorough test suite to ensure performance and reliability
- Participate in dyno development and operation
- Troubleshoot and debug system issues through data analysis
- Oversee supplier management and requirements definition
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience developing control algorithms for power systems
- Proficient in C/C++ programming
- Proven track record in motor control and/or power electronic control systems
- Deep understanding of power converter topologies, modulation strategies, and sensor selection
- Modeling and simulating experience
- Solid grasp of electrical schematics and control circuitry
- Understands DSPs and embedded systems
- Comfortable working with high voltage and dynamometer test equipment
