Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Construction Department Manager to their Chicago Team!



Responsibilities:
  • Manage Construction Services Department
  • Work directly with clients and contractors
  • Assist with project design
  • Manage staff and their assignments
  • Mentor/train junior staff
  • Serve as project manager on complex projects
  • Prepare proposals/contracts
  • Monitor progress schedule/shop drawing log
  • Review pay requests and verify work is completed


Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Civil or Construction Engineering (from accredited program) with an emphasis in construction engineering
  • 12+ years of experience in consultant construction engineering
  • Experience working on IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects
  • Experience with Chicago DOT and METRA construction projects
  • Knowledge of principles of engineering
  • Proficient in proprietary software (IDOT/Tollway construction management programs)
