CNC Machinist Lead

Pay: $25.50-33/hr. (depends on experience.)

Hours: Monday- Friday 7AM-3:45PM

Job Description:

Generate CNC programs, with and without programming software, using the correct speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts appropriate for the material being machined. Train employees of the machine shop area with high level of emphasis in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Sense of Pace during all shop activities. Assist Machine Shop Leadership in maintaining the Machine Shop schedule including but not limited to assigning shop and administrative tasks, which include Glovia and Mercury transactions, to ensure products are ready for delivery to Quality by the documented due date, considering parts requiring outside processing. Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts to drawing specifications. Assume leadership roles as designated when Machine Shop Supervisor isn’t present. Monitor the speeds and feeds of CNC machines during the machining process. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics, machine shop theories, and instruments, including but not limited to, micrometers and vernier calipers. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto the machines. Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the machining processes. Participate in Research & Development activities as required. Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.

Qualification Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.  Five (5) years of experience in the operation and setup of CNC mills and lathes.  Two (2) years of experience in CNC programming using multiple controls/programs.
