CHEMICAL PROCESS ENGINEER (Permanent)
Our client, a global chemical manufacturing company, is looking to hire three (3) Chemical Process Engineers to join their Milwaukee, WI location. These are newly created positions due to growth and will report to the Plant Manager (who is also a Chemical Engineer). Based on level, the role will consist of a variety of responsibilities listed below.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support in the areas of product and process development, troubleshooting, cost (yield and labor efficiency) improvement, product quality improvement, and cycle time reduction
  • Investigation and proposal of new production equipment, procedures, and methods to automate, improve, and/or scale-up existing processes
  • New Product Development and R&D; assist in New Process Development Stage Gate reviews
  • Complete BOMs, BOM reviews, work instructions, SPCs, training, etc.
  • Develop and implement Statistical Process Controls
  • Collect and interpret data and SPC charting
  • Develop standard work instructions and train operators
  • Support maintenance in troubleshooting and equipment diagnostic activities
  • Troubleshoot problems with existing equipment and processes; recommend and implement solutions to problems
  • Run test programs to identify key variables for process optimization using sound Continuous Improvement techniques (such as ANOVA, DOE); collect and analyze data from tests; develop conclusions and recommendations for process improvement(s)
  • Act as the champion for complaint resolution including root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventative actions for any complaints for the assigned area
  • Act as Project Leader for continuous improvement and corrective action teams
  • Complete Continuous Improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma & Lean techniques
  • Work closely with other team members and departments including other engineers, R&D, Product Development, Maintenance, Production, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


Details:

  • Position is full time, direct hire, standard 40 hours per week
  • Position is in-facility Monday thru Friday, first shift
  • $75,000 - $120,000 annually depending on experience
  • 0 - 5+ years Engineering experience, chemical manufacturing industry preferred
  • Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering is required
  • Six Sigma certification preferred; company will assist with education towards Green Belt within the first two (2) years
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Work well in a team setting, as well as independently
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; good time management skills
  • Relocation possibly available within the US
