The Business Analyst is responsible for assisting the Rental & Services Business Unit and Project Managers in optimizing profitability and efficiency including general reporting, cost control, estimating, scheduling, project accounting, project coordination and procurement.


The Rental & Services group is a rapidly developing business unit supporting a dynamic work scope, diverse clientele and varying operating regions. As such, the candidate will be required to provide their support in a very fluid environment and must be able to adjust accordingly. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and highly proficient in project cost control and analysis with demonstrable experience in project planning and scheduling.


Duties and Responsibilities:


For all rental programs and capital asset construction projects, perform the following project controls functions:


  • Work with Project Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planner, and Project Management to develop proposal budgets and schedules.
  • Develop baseline budget and schedule upon contract award.
  • Work with project manager to determine key risk factors affecting schedule and budget. Help identify ways to mitigate risks.
  • Track cost vs. budget from start to end of project. Make cost forecast adjustments as necessary.
  • Work with planner to develop and maintain project schedule with full resource loading.
  • Track labor hours vs. budget from start and make forecast adjustments as necessary.
  • Interface with Engineering and Manufacturing report status and schedule changes.
  • Track resource reallocation throughout project. Call out potential resource shortages to key managers.
  • Measure and report progress in terms of actual vs. planned progress throughout the project.
  • Maintain project cash flow forecast
  • Provide updated risk assessment reports to management, including likelihood of budget/schedule impact, mitigation steps, and contingencies identified if problems should occur.
  • Deliver periodic reports to management and clients.
  • Work with Proposals Manager to track and manage change orders.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to initiate and facilitate all project client billing.
  • Coordinate project closeout.
  • Deliver final project reports to management.
  • Support personnel and equipment scheduling between projects
