Employer Active
Powelson Consulting is looking for energetic, caring, and kind-hearted Babysitters to assist our Foster Care community client. This position, as could be expected, is an on-call/as-needed basis. However, for some of the families in need, a steady part-time or even a full-time position may be possible in the future.
As a Babysitter for a very specific niche of families, it will be your responsibility to maintain strict confidentiality and care standards at all times.
Here are just a few of your roles/duties as a Babysitter for Powelson Consulting:
Always pay attention to the situation. Whether you are scheduled for an hour or two, a half day, a full day, or an overnight, your #1 responsibility is the child/children in your care. The health and safety of the child/children in your care, as well as yourself, are always of the utmost importance.
Make sure to be understanding of health and safety protocols, demonstrated to you by prior experience, formal rules/regulations provided to you, and protocols deemed necessary by the client and company that employs you.

While this is not considered a housekeeping or nanny position, it is, of course, common courtesy to clean up after yourself and the child/children while they are under your care. We do not expect for you to go above and beyond, as caring for the children is a priority, but please be mindful of any spills/messes while you are sitting.
During the time that you are with the children, one of your primary goals is to observe, protect, and ensure that they are taken care of (i.e., helping change diapers, changing clothes if necessary, feeding, possibly bathing (depending on rules dictated by the family/client/center), and other general caregiving duties. These expectations will be on a case-by-case basis, however, should always be expected as duties within your job scope.
While performing general caregiving duties, some of the activities/responsibilities of a Babysitter include: entertaining children with games and other activities, helping children with their homework, transporting children to/from school, after-school activities, and play dates (as notated in your client information, these will be known prior to acceptance of each job), preparing snacks/meals, changing diapers, bathing children, putting them to bed, light housework.
