About the Role
As a History Teacher you will deliver stimulating and structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with potential opportunities to teach A-Level History depending on experience. You will help pupils develop historical knowledge critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse and interpret sources effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons across KS3 KS4 and potentially KS5
Creating engaging learning activities and resources that inspire student curiosity
Assessing pupil progress providing constructive feedback and supporting improvement
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Encouraging independent learning and research skills
Supporting enrichment activities such as history clubs trips and competitions
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Maintaining high standards of behaviour engagement and academic achievement
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
Be committed to supporting the progress and personal development of all pupils
Be able to plan and deliver lessons that cater to varying abilities and learning styles
Show initiative creativity and professionalism in teaching and collaboration
