Job Title: Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse to care for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a surgical step-down environment. The ideal candidate must have strong cardiac telemetry skills and experience managing high-acuity post-surgical patients.

Unit Overview:

This is a surgical step-down unit specializing in post-cardiovascular surgery patients including:

  • Post-op Cardiac Surgery patients (1724 hours post-procedure)

  • Post carotid endarterectomy

  • Post femoral endarterectomy

  • Post endovascular AAA repairs

  • Other vascular surgery patients transitioning from PACU

Required Experience:

  • Strong Cardiac Telemetry experience required

  • Experience caring for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients

  • Comfortable managing fresh post-op cases from PACU

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation

  • Post-operative assessments and hemodynamic monitoring

  • Early recognition of complications in CV surgery patients

  • Collaboration with cardiac surgery and vascular teams

  • Accurate documentation and patient education
