Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown

Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (7:00 AM 7:30 PM)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse to care for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a surgical step-down environment. The ideal candidate must have strong cardiac telemetry skills and experience managing high-acuity post-surgical patients.
Unit Overview:
This is a surgical step-down unit specializing in post-cardiovascular surgery patients including:
Post-op Cardiac Surgery patients (1724 hours post-procedure)
Post carotid endarterectomy
Post femoral endarterectomy
Post endovascular AAA repairs
Other vascular surgery patients transitioning from PACU
Required Experience:
Strong Cardiac Telemetry experience required
Experience caring for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients
Comfortable managing fresh post-op cases from PACU
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Post-operative assessments and hemodynamic monitoring
Early recognition of complications in CV surgery patients
Collaboration with cardiac surgery and vascular teams
Accurate documentation and patient education
