    Job Description


    Job Title: Applications & Data Support Specialist
    Hours: 7a.m. - 4p.m.
    Location: District Office

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelors Degree is preferred. Can be in the area of technology education or training.
    2. Experience with project management including the ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical users of data and systems is preferred.
    3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders including teachers administrators school board members district staff and with members of the public.
    4. Must demonstrate a code of ethics and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive data and proprietary information.
    5. Must be able to respond to customer needs and concerns in a prompt and positive manner.
    6. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    7. Must be able to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy producing timely results.
    8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    9. Strong written and verbal communication organization and interpersonal skills.
    10. Prior experience with school software/data systems is preferred (such as Infinite Campus and/or PowerSchool eFinance).
    11. A demonstrated ability to learn multiple software packages and knowledge of productivity software (Office G-Suite) is required.
    12. Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL is required.


    Reports to: Director of Technology

    Job Goal: To assist the district in reaching its mission vision and core values by providing valuable service and support to the users of our districts software application and data systems. A successful candidate for this position will provide front-facing application and data support to teachers staff and administrators and will also provide back-end support through the design and development of training resources workflow processes and reports.


    Performance Responsibilities:

    1. Develop an in-depth awareness of how the districts technology systems function and integrate with one another and be able to create workflow processes that provide the most efficient and effective outcome. This includes a multitude of application/data systems that fall under our student information systems instructional systems and operational systems.
    2. Support the implementation and maintenance of online curriculum resources and learning management systems ensuring smooth integration with existing technology infrastructure and providing assistance to educators in their use.
    3. Provide excellent customer service and support for users experience using the various technology systems.
    4. Provide direct training and support to users in the effective use of our district technology systems.
    5. Update and maintain district Microsoft SQL Databases
    6. Develop technical and non-technical print and video resources to help users effectively utilize the technology systems.
    7. Must be responsive and alert to new learning opportunities growth and development of technical and interpersonal skills; able to recognize and address areas needing improvement.
    8. Provide information to the Director of Technology on all matters of relevance.


    Physical Demands:

    1. Must be able to travel in a district-provided vehicle to all buildings and locations as assigned by the Director of Technology.
    2. Will be required to see stand walk sit and manipulate (lift carry move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds.
    3. Requires good hand-eye coordination arm hand and finger dexterity including ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard operate equipment and read technical information.
    4. Employee must be able to frequently work with interruptions during a work shift.
    5. Employee must be capable of working in a broad range of temperatures humidity and other winter and summer environments.

    1. 12-month position.
    2. Hours as assigned by Supervisor

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Southeast Polk Board Policy.
