Job Skills / Requirements

We are currently seeking a part-time Extinguisher Service Technician for our Grand Island NE location.

We expect our Extinguisher technicians to be self-driven with the ability to schedule and complete the work load provided. Although the position would allow for some flexibility we expect a 40 hour minimum work week. A valid drivers license with a good record is required. Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.

Starting pay is between $22 and $24 per hour

What youll be doing:

• Help keep shop and work areas clean.
• Be courteous and helpful to our service techs inspectors and warehouse staff.
• Perform extinguisher re-fills.
• Maintain the inventory of all serviced and new extinguishers.
• Deliver extinguishers when needed
• Perform service on a variety of fire protection equipment including: portable fire extinguishers.

What youll need:

• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs safely use ladders work overhead and work in tight spaces.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Organizational skills are essential for success
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly is a must.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time. You will be on your feet all day with the exception of morning and afternoon breaks and lunch
• Need to be able to work with hand tools.
