The Role

As a Group Product Manager for Data Collection you will define and lead GMs endtoend strategy for collecting highquality data at scale across both dedicated data collection vehicle (DCV) fleets and the broader retail portfolio. You will own the vision roadmap and execution model for how GMacquires prioritizes measures and governs the datato advanceassistive andautonomous driving systems.
Your remit spansthe entire ecosystem of data sourcesincluding:designing highefficiency fleetstrategiesdeveloping operational tooling solutionsanddeploying collection policies and experiences in retail vehicles.You will also bepartnering with engineering teams to ensure collected data meets the fidelity volume compliance and cost targetsfor model development and validation. Success requires strong technical judgment principled tradeoffmaking and the ability to influence senior leaders across autonomy safety engineering operations and finance.
WhatYoullDo
Own the longterm product vision and roadmap for GMs multimodal data collection ecosystem covering DCV fleets retail vehicle data capture and all associated tools workflows and infrastructure.
Lead GMs data collection initiatives for autonomous and supervised driving ensuring that data acquisition supports development evaluation validation and fleet operations goals.
OptimizeGMs dedicated data collection fleets including hardware configurations sensor packages operating models routing strategies and coverage planning.
Define and drive the retail data collection strategy from instrumentation and triggers to consent mechanisms customer experience considerations governance and policy compliance.
Identifygaps and tradeoffs in data quality throughput coverage operational cost and developer productivityand lead initiatives to close them.
Drive a metricsbasedoperatingmodelestablishingand managing KPIs for data utility completeness cost efficiency fleet productivity and endtoend data latency.
Translate autonomy and safety team requirements into clear product requirements and prioritization frameworks for both fleetbased and retailbased data capture.
Communicate program status decisions and insights to senior leadership and crossfunctional stakeholders.
Build and lead a team of datafocused product managers mentoring them and cultivating a culture of operational rigor innovation and customerobsessed prioritization.
Stay ahead of industry technology and regulatory trends related to vehicle data consent privacy sensing hardware and modeldriven data strategies.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
10 years of product management or related industry experience.
2 years of managing teams
Proven experience withtechnicalproduct management and leading the entire product lifecycle from concept to introduction.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
Excellent presentation abilities to drive a concrete vision and rally the team.
Technicalproficiencyin problem-solving with complex software solutions
Experience defining vision and strategy for softwareproducts
Exceptionalcommunication and leadership skills withthe ability to drive stakeholder buy-in.
Proven oral and written communication skills; ability to become fluent in technical concepts and explain to non-technicalpartners
Comfortable with complex and ambiguous problems and situations and adept atidentifyinga projectsrisks
Enthusiastic and resilient in a constantly evolving environment where creative solutions are the norm.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Mastersor Doctorate degree in related field
Experience working with data scientists and AI/ML teams on software development tools pipelines andrelease
Experience fostering innovation and driving change in complexorganizations
Experience shipping hardware or AI driven consumer products
Hybrid:This role is categorized ashybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to theWarren MI or Mountain View CA office three times per week at minimum.
Compensation:The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
The salary range for this role is $134700 to $245000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
