The ComputingSolutionsDepartment (CSD)within Displays Computing and Networking (DCN)has an opening for aPrincipalElectrical responsible forthe development ofnewcomputingplatforms that will serve as the basis for our next generation avionics products.

Ourplatformsemploy the following technologies and interfaces; Airborne Electronic Hardware including FPGAsASICsandMPSoCs. Avionicsand processorinterfaces including ARINC 429Ethernet AFDX PCIe CANRS-232 DDR I2C SPI.

Our products must be developedin compliancewiththe latest regulatory requirements including DO-254 AC20-152A and AC20-170.

Seeking a motivated individual to join our team and helpdeliveraproduct linecomputing platformassociatedcertificationplansand a set of lifecycle artifactsthat will enable product adoption and deliver reuse forour futureAvionics solutions.

What You Will Do:

• Responsibilitieswillinclude circuit card and sub-level module development productcertification product transition and product sustainment over the life cycle of the design.
• Act as the primary Certification Focalowning thePlan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC)and hardware development and verification SOI process.
• Responsible forexecutingsolutions with a product line focus andstrivingto generatereuse andreapplicationof the product line artifact lifecycledata.
• Opportunity for project engineering and control account management (PE/CAM) functions.
• 5-10% travel as needed

What You Will Learn:

• Advanced SoC Integration: Gainexpertisein integrating multi-core processors and the associatedimplications todesign and certification.
• Regulatory Leadership: Develop the skills to guide a team through the rigorous Stage of Involvement (SOI) audit process becoming a subject matter expert in moderncertificationguidance.
• Master Hardware Architecting:Advance from a designer to a high-levelHardware Architect.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Hardware domainknowledge of development and verificationlifecycleactivities and production of the associated artifacts.
• Understanding and application of certificationobjectives(DO-254AC 20-152A).
• Design experience interfacing with complex embedded devices (microprocessors graphics processors memory).
• Experience working with standard lab equipment for integration testing of hardware designs.
• Experience with schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC) Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Design for Test (DFT).
• Experience conducting COTS Device Assessments and managing complexcomponenterrata.
• Verification Depth: knowledge of verification tooling and process.
• Proven structured technical writing experience.

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
