About the Role
The Billing Specialist plays a vital role in protecting the financial health of the organization. This position owns daily billing execution claim follow-up and denial resolution to ensure revenue flows accurately and on time.
This is a high-volume detail-oriented remote role that requires independent thinking sound judgment and comfort working within defined policies.
You will be trusted and your productivity will be visible.
What Youll Do
Submit and track claims through RCM and payer portals
Monitor denials and resolve root causes promptly
Communicate documentation issues clearly and professionally
Collect patient responsibility (copays deductibles no-show fees)
Track payer trends and escalate systemic issues
Collaborate with our RCM vendor
Maintain accurate spreadsheets and reporting
Support audits and payer inquiries as needed

Claims submitted accurately and timely
Denials addressed quickly
Aging AR actively managed
No passive backlog accumulation
Clear proactive communication
You are comfortable making reasonable decisions when processes are not perfectly defined. You move forward document your work and escalate when appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years medical billing experience
Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding
Experience with major payer portals (Aetna BCBS Optum Kaiser etc.)
Proficiency in Excel
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Experience in high-volume processing roles
Private distraction-free home workspace
Reliable high-speed internet
Full availability during scheduled work hours
Work Structure
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Must be available for the entire scheduled shift
Ongoing workflow monitoring and productivity review
This role is best suited for individuals who prefer clear expectations steady workflow and measurable performance standards.
