As a Food Service Worker at Acelero Learning you will play an essential role in supporting the health well-being and daily nourishment of children ages 05 within our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to school readiness by ensuring children receive nutritious USDA-approved meals in a clean safe and welcoming environment. You will work collaboratively with program staff to maintain high standards of food safety organization and servicehelping create a strong foundation for learning and growth.
As a Food Service Worker you will support daily kitchen operations by preparing and serving meals that meet USDA and Health Department standards. You will maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment manage food inventory using proper storage and rotation practices and ensure meals are delivered safely and efficiently to classrooms. Your work will directly support childrens health and ability to thrive in the classroom.
Assist with the preparation of assigned menus ensuring meals are attractive nutritious and USDA-approved.
Support the delivery of meals to classrooms and the collection of dirty dishes following meal service.
Clean dishes utensils and kitchen equipment using approved sanitary washing procedures.
Receive and inspect food deliveries for accuracy quality and compliance with safety standards.
Properly store food and supplies including dating all items and following FIFO (First In First Out) inventory practices.
Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation storage and service.
Ensure refrigerators and freezers are maintained at appropriate temperatures.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen materials equipment and workspaces in accordance with Health Department regulations.
A strong commitment to supporting children and families in a mission-driven early childhood environment.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as required.
