The Internal Communications Specialist will work as part of the Communications and Marketing Team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the organizations overall internal communications strategy which reflects our values and culture. The aim of this work is to use communication to help create an inclusive environment of shared understanding making colleagues feel informed valued and connected with the work of the organization and its mission. Position works in collaboration with the executive team of Augusta Health and designees to collaborate and distribute messaging prepare presentations create internal memos print and electronic materials and develop branding strategies and other forms of communication for Augusta Health team members.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Communications Marketing Journalism or related discipline required.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience preferably in healthcare or other complex environment required.
- 5 years experience preferred.
Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High level of detail orientation to edit own work and that of others
- Ability to lead and execute a broad range of communications functions. Ability to strategically plan communications activities. Ability to mentor other professionals.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to simplify and convey complex information and format in an engaging and motivational look and feel.
- Ability to translate the hospitals mission strategic aims and programs into persuasive communications materials.
- Highly positive mindset having demonstrated flexibility resilience and willingness to explore different paths to communicate and adjust quickly efficiently and positively to feedback of all types and changes.
- Proven ability to work with organizational leaders to synthesize information and convey simplify strategic and complex messages.
- Requires excellent speaking and writing skills and must be proficient at working with others.
- Skilled in the use of multiple state of the art communications and social media platforms.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously in a time-sensitive and fast paced environment.
- Must be proficient in PowerPoint.
