Job Summary

Federal Signal is looking to hire for our 2026 Summer Internship Program!

Those hired for the program will work from May 18 2026 through August 7 2026.
We are looking for a student that is pursuing a 4-yr degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

You must have completed your Sophomore OR Junior year in order to qualify.

Please do not apply if you are graduating after Spring 26 Semester.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Engineering - Students pursuing a bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering. Potential projects listed below:

  • Assist the team with various engineering projects such as:
    • Work Cell Optimization
    • Labeling
    • Equipment set up
    • Assist with ISO compliance
    • Assist with Cost reduction initiatives related to production
    • Optimize automation for better uptime
    • Review and repair all of our in-house fixtures.

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a bachelors degree in the major listed above
  • Student must have completed their sophomore year of college
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel PowerPoint and Word
  • Mechanical and electrical Aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of Solidworks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Considering local candidates only; Federal Signal does not provide relocation or housing stipend.

Internship is paid based on year completed in education: $20.57/hr - $22.44/hr
