The Role

You will be responsible for leading logistics quality and material returns strategies in planning engineering and daily operations for the shipments to all customers and PDCa Parts Plants and other locations in North this position you will work to improve logistics quality as well as deliver a better customer experience for our end customers. You will supervise daily activities and collaborate closely with RXO Logistics and the GM Logistics operations teams to develop and institute process improvement ideas to help improve our carrier quality. You will monitor carrier performance and through analytics look for new ideas to help our carriers and operations staff improve the quality of our shipments. We are looking for someone with both strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as strong business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively cross functionally and to our senior leadership. This is a hands-on role that will require you to not only be a leader but also perform analysis yourself as well.


What Youll Do

  • Responsible for executing deliverables in support of the logistics organizations business objectives.
  • Provides support of one of the key areas within Logistics and / or Containers organization to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer quality service responsiveness people product and financial initiatives.
  • Communicates within the function as well as other functions external affiliates regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers
  • Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts practices and approaches.
  • Identify problems update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures.
  • Promote GMs values and makes customer-focused decisions.
  • Removing Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation and execution of logistics quality processes
  • Prioritize work while completing assigned projects and ad hoc requests
  • Perform analytical work: Report Generation generating insight from data
  • Collaborate with RXO and GM Logistics to develop plans for future quality projects and communicate plans accordingly
  • Attending carrier meetings to review quality performance and hold them accountable
  • Collaborate with Divisional Quality on performance and overall vision
  • Review carrier claim payments for accuracy and adherence to contracts
  • Report out weekly/monthly updates to Managers and Leadership
  • Strategize upcoming quality projects and ideal future state Logistics processes
  • Talk to customers periodically for feedback on Logistics performance and opportunities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Strong analytical ability
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare and present material to Senior Leadership effectively
  • Automotive service and parts experience
  • Ability to setup and facilitate Virtual meetings
  • Ability to work independent from Manager while completing project tasks efficiently and on time
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office software especially Excel Access Power Point as well as overall computer proficiency
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual difficult or complex
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Some travel to Southeast Michigan GM and carrier locations is required on occasion based on business need
  • Travel up to 10%
  • 4 years relevant work experience in purchasing supply chain program/product management logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in BusinessPurchasing Supply Chain Management Finance related field
  • GM CCA Parts plant experience
  • Understanding of our GM Logistics network
  • Customer/Dealer contact/interface experience
  • Familiar with Power BI and other data analytics software
  • Understanding of Microsoft Access (SQL)
  • Understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week or other frequency dictated by their manager. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
