Rate of Pay: $35.00 per hour
Schedule: Less than 19 hours per week
Summary:The purpose of this position is to supervise nursing students in direct patient care acting as a role model while providing a professional and welcoming learning environment. Instructor will provide feedback related to student progress and development. Must maintain accurate records and professional rapport with students and colleagues.
Job Duties: - Teaches clinical experiences in accordance with course outline and lead faculty. Consults with faculty as needed. Supports students activities and remains available for student consultation.
- Manages and supervises all aspects of direct patient care with students to meet course outcomes. Including but not limited to: assessment communication procedures medication administration patient teaching charting and overall management of students.
- Measures and evaluates student performance providing constructive feedback. Maintains accurate records.
- Represents the college in a professional manner while maintaining professional expertise in Nursing. Recognizes the importance of recruiting and retaining students for the program.
- Prepares post conference activities. Makes patient assignments. Grades care plans and other with faculty related to weather related cancellations and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Minimum of two years clinical experience. Must have prior experience to demonstrate expertise in the field to be taught and/or teaching experience preferably at the post-secondary level. A baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing or an applicable field (education counseling psychology sociology health education health administration or public health) or make annual progress toward the attainment of such a degree. (Annual progress is defined as a minimum of one course per year taken as part of an organized plan of study.) Abilities:Basic computer skills. Training with electronic medical record. Approachable and -versed in therapeutic and constructive communication techniques.
