The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) drives research development and industry adoption of additive manufacturing technology through collaborative projects with leading industry partners and with schools and research centres within and beyond Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU Singapore).

For more details please view are looking for aresearch associate to develop a 4D printable wearable device for orthodontics. The role will focus on developing the material to meet the orthodontic requirements while evaluating the biocompatibility and performance of the fabricated prototype.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct biocompatibility testing including cytotoxicity sensitization irritation and systemic toxicity studies

• Design and execute experiments to further evaluate the materials properties and qualities (e.g. water contact test leeching test)

• Fabricate 3D printed prototypes using vat photopolymerization

• Formulate photopolymer resin for vat photopolymerization with biocompatibility in consideration

• Evaluate orthodontic performance of 4D printed wearable

• Improve prototype through optimization in material and fabrication parameters

• Monitor research and project activities prepare documentation of activity logs and ensure tasks are completed on schedule

• Assist in basic accounting functions such as invoice processing expense claims and payment tracking

• Manage logistics and inventories in the group including stock-taking and auditing

• Coordinate internal and external meetings including scheduling venue booking preparation of related materials and recording of meeting minutes

• Handle all procurements including sourcing of quotations and processing purchasing orders

Job Requirements:

• BS or MS degree in Materials or Biomedical Engineering with at least 4 or more relevant years of working experience or similar capacity

• Able to work independently while effectively communicating with the team

• Capable of conducting biocompatibility tests such as cytotoxicity test

• Experiences in 3D printing preferably with vat photopolymerization such as digital light processing

• Able to mentor students and colleagues
