About the Position

Are you detail-oriented and enjoy working with data Do you want to use your tech-savvy skills to support public health teams and develop organized standard processes Do you also enjoy learning about the people side of data If so we want you to join our team.

As the Data Coordinator for the Office of Program Evaluation you will develop and refine processes to improve data collection and analysis efficiency through technology solutions. The Data Coordinator will collaborate with internal and external partners and contribute expertise on data systems to ensure the consistency and usability of all evaluation data collected by the Office of Program Evaluation. Your work will improve the impact of projects related to substance use disorder programs public health infrastructure initiatives heat relief and other department-wide initiatives.

This position is grant-funded through December 2026.

We Require

  • One year of experience administering public programs managing projects and/or coordinating programs and services

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health Research Health Informatics Data Science Business/Public Administration or a closely related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Within one month of hire all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles mumps rubella) Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria) Varicella (chickenpox) and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test

  • A valid Arizona drivers license upon hire

Job Contributions

  • Establishes best practices and standard processes for data collection data integration and data entry processes to ensure consistency and accuracy

  • Manage varying priorities across multiple teams to meet data collection and entry needs

  • Collaborates with MCDPH program staff leadership and community partners to refine and improve data collection and entry processes

  • Meet with program evaluation partners and funded contractors to address data-collection questions receive updates on activities and revise data collection plans as needed

  • Create and revise data collection forms in accordance with established best practices in REDCap Microsoft Forms or other formats

  • Work with project management tools to track Continuous Improvement and Workforce Development deliverables

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency

  • Hybrid and alternative work schedule options are available after training period based on business needs
