Nocturnist

We are seeking dedicated Nighttime Intensivists to join our ICU team. This role involves covering the EJGH Medical ICU Service on a week-on/week-off basis with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The intensivist will provide in-house supervision for the EJGH Medical ICU Service. The EJGH Medical ICU Service is composed of two teams the EJGH Non-academic MICU Team and the EJGH Academic MICU part of supervision the applicant will perform core ICU procedures manage new admissions to the MICU service overnight manage existing patient on the MICU service respond to code blues in the hospital and offer critical care consultation in other units as Responsibilities Work 12-hour night shifts (7 PM to 7 AM) on a rotating week-on/week-off all new admissions to the MICU academic team overnightPerform all ne admissions to the MICU non-academic team overnightOversee the management of existing patients admitted to the MICU academic team overnightManage existing patients admitted to the MICU non-academic team overnightProvide consultative services to other EJGH inpatient servicesSupervise residents and advanced practice providers on the MICU promptly to rapid response escalations requiring ICU promptly to code blue or supervise core MICU procedures being performed byt the MICU service including central lines dialysis lines chest tubes thoracenteses paracenteses lumbar punctures arterial lines intubations and bill appropriately for all clinical activitiesRespond to phone calls from the LCMC Transfer Center and be the accepting physician for patients needing transfer to the EJGH MICU patients on to and off of the EJGH MICU Service at any Requirements Proficiency in core ICU procedures. Strong work ethic dedication and commitment to patient care. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and coordinate effectively with other ICU and hospital units. Willingness to become proficient in the care of patients requiring mechanical support (ECMO VAD etc.) as program growth occurs.
