POSITION TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports student academic progress by tutoring individuals or small groups
- Assists students with physical needs
- Supports appropriate student conduct monitors behavior uses positive student management techniques and reports misbehavior to teacher or administrator
- Performs routine clerical/instructional duties in support of classroom instruction e.g. grading copying attendance reporting filing laminating typing cutting gathering/creating lesson materials decorating bulletin boards escorting students etc.
- Uses technology to support the curriculum i.e. computers VCRs printers cameras copiers etc.
- Participates in meetings and in-service programs as requested by the building principal
- Communicates effectively with students staff and the community
- Supports and implements all school and district policies and procedures
- Performs various other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
