We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and collaborative professional to join the Integrated Operations team as Superintendent Rail Control Production.
In this role youll guide and support a team that manages the accountability for zero 48-hour execution and optimisation of the WAIO railing schedule execution supporting safe and efficient operations across one of the worlds leading heavy haul railways. Youll bring strong strategic thinking inclusive team engagement and problem-solving skills to help optimise daily performance and drive improvements across key interfaces.
Reporting to the Manager Logistics Control this role is based at our Integrated Remote Operations Centre in Perth (City Square) and works on a Monday to Friday roster.
About the Role
You will play a key role in shaping execution strategies and collaborating across multiple teams including Rail Operations Rail Network Maintenance Rolling Stock Maintenance Supply Chain Scheduling and Maintenance Planning to safely maximise inflow tonnes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Empower teams responsible for monitoring and coordinating rail network activities to ensure safe reliable operations and on-time performance. Provide guidance to training data and systems teams while coaching and developing team members to achieve high performance
- Communicate priorities and risks clearly bringing together insights from multiple stakeholders to enable informed actions.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to maintain schedules manage disruptions and support new projects across the rail network.
- Facilitate recovery efforts including coordinating emergency meetings investigating events and creating and sharing recovery plans.
- Explore root causes and collaborate on solutions using structured approaches to resolve complex challenges.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and work with teams to overcome constraints and optimise rail network activities.
- Oversee Rail Control data management through the Data & Systems team including:
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of rail performance data
- Managing systems for rail time accounting and track access
- Guiding a team of data analysts and rail time accountants
- Using data insights to enhance operational efficiency and maximise inflow tonnes
About You
You will have experience in leading teams and managing complex supply chains or processes within rail energy or resources sectors. Your ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across diverse teams and levels with be key to success.
You will thrive in a fast-paced high-visibility role that requires you to collaborate with and influence a broad range of stakeholders. You will demonstrate strong analytical skills excellent judgement and the ability to make decisions confidently. You will have an overriding commitment to safety and be adept at identifying & managing risk in an operational setting.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust with stakeholders across levels of a large organisation are essential. Experience in developing high-performing diverse teams is highly valued.
A tertiary qualification in Engineering Business Supply Chain Management or a related field will be highly regarded.
