Department: Global Institutional; Office of the COO

Reports To: Global Head of Business Office and Distribution Operations

Job Summary:

Representing Manulife Investment Management the Institutional team covers institutional investor markets including Investment Consultants Endowments Foundations Corporate & Taft-Hartley Insurance Sub-advisory and Family Office. The incumbent is responsible for oversight and management of team members and partnering with senior distribution leaders to execute on sales & relationship strategy. The individual is responsible for a team of Associate Director level reports each of whom functions in internal sales support and client-facing supporting the overall Distribution Operations priorities this role will be that of a project lead chief delegate and subject matter expert with regards to working with function business partners and the Institutional teams sales administration needs. This role reports to the Global Head of Business Office and Distribution Operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT FUNCTION:
    • Manage internal sales professionals (six reports) for institutional client markets
    • Partner with senior distribution leaders on strategy development and execution
    • Drive initiatives oversee weekly meetings and coordinate training
    • Mentor junior members of the group and new hires
    • Drive performance towards high activity levels best-in-class client service and developing new business
    • Lead team projects
    • Manage goal setting and support employee career development
    • Manage recruiting pipeline for new talent
    • Regular interaction and reporting responsibilities with senior management

  • DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT FUNCTION:
    • Work across functions to optimize distribution priorities for Manulife Investment Management including partners in Marketing Operations Channel Marketing Sales Enablement Technology and external industry data partners.
    • Provide functional and technical direction to Sales Marketing Portfolio Management Compliance and various other departments that affect client outcome and experience
    • Lead for industry conference prioritization and delivery
    • Project Management
    • Monitor status and success of Requests for Proposal and Due Diligence Questionnaires
    • Travel as needed estimated 10% at peak periods.
    • Maintain responsibility for business channel knowledge and operational project management.
    • Work with senior management on ad hoc requests and various projects

Qualifications:

  • Candidate profile is that of an organized leader a mentor team manager and a sales-minded professional.
  • Specialization in team management client relations supporting external sales teams and investment product knowledge required.
  • Relevant industry experience in the asset management industry 5-7 years minimum preferred
  • FINRA Licenses: SIE Series 7 Series 63/65/66 Series 24
  • Track record of success in a client relations or sales environment
  • Understanding of sales and marketing process
  • Versatile knowledge of capital markets
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Team attitude and philosophy
  • Bachelors degree
  • Progress towards professional designations or continuing education a plus (CFA CAIA CIMA MBA MSF)

Salary range is expected to be between

$120750.00 USD - $217350.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
