About the Role:

The Sexual Assault Hospital Response Advocate will provide on-site crisis intervention services within the Tri-County area for survivors of sexual violence seeking medical attention and support at area hospitals. Advocate will assist with safety planning connection to follow up services and helping survivor navigate engagement with system based services. This is a great position for someone who is looking to start in the sexual and domestic violence advocacy field.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Respond to requests for on-site advocacy at local area hospitals within the Tri-County area (Multnomah Washington and Clackamas) for survivors seeking medical care and/or forensic examination due to sexual assault.
  • Provide crisis intervention advocacy safety planning and referral to follow up services as needed.
  • Provide education on forensic exam and legal reporting options advocacy support in reporting to law enforcement if so desired.
  • Provide access to emergency hotel vouchers transportation replacement clothing hygiene items and food as needed.
  • Maintain documentation consistent with El Programa Hispano Catolicos Social Service Delivery Procedures and other applicable standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 40-hour DV/SA Advocacy training preferred; however training is available and must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of Assertive Engagement (AE) training within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-culturally competent.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Ability to work well in team setting as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have drivers license access to vehicle and automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100). Ability to travel around the Tri-County area (Multnomah Washington and Clackamas) for on-site hospital response.
  • Ability to pass a background check including finger printing and local and national registry checks upon hire and every 5 years.

Benefits at EPHC: This is a non-benefited position.

Compensation: This position pays $26.00 per hour of worked time on a call $2.50 per hour for on-call hours.

Location & Typical Working Conditions:

This position is 100% remote and requires travel to local area hospitals within the Tri-County region (Multnomah Washington and Clackamas). Shifts are available 24/7 at 4 8 12 and 24 hour intervals.
