Job Title: Provider Enrollment & Credentialing Specialist

Location:Austin TX (Hybrid or Remote Based on Proximity)
Assignment Type: Full-Time Contract-to-Hire Potential

Work Location Requirements

  • Local candidates (within 60 miles of Austin TX):Must work 100% onsite.
  • Candidates located over 60 miles from Austin TX:May work 100% remote.

Recent experience required:

  • Minimum 1 yearof customer service and/or data entry experience.
  • Minimum 6 monthsof healthcare provider enrollment and credentialing experience.
  • Experience must be within the last year preferably in the most recent position.

Candidates not meeting these specific recency and experience requirements will not be considered.

Position Overview

The Provider Enrollment & Credentialing Specialist interacts with healthcare providers and ancillary staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of Medicaid provider enrollment applications and file maintenance requests. This role requires strong attention to detail excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally interact with providers and ancillary staff to address inquiries and concerns regarding enrollment and file maintenance for Medicaid programs.
  • Process 100% of assigned applications and maintenance requests according to documented procedures meeting daily productivity and accuracy targets.
  • Identify and communicate deficiencies in applications; notify providers of incomplete or inaccurate submissions and coordinate corrections as needed.
  • Respond promptly to provider inquiries regarding application status.
  • Research and contact providers by phone or email to resolve application deficiencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhere to established Quality Assurance standards and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production goals and workload demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Mid- to advanced-level computer proficiency including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
  • At least 1 yearof experience in customer service or data entry roles.
  • At least 6 monthsof recent experience in healthcare provider enrollment and credentialing.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently using critical thinking to analyze and resolve enrollment issues.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working under minimal supervision while maintaining team collaboration.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with various enrollment types and program updates.
