multiple states providing K12 alternative education comprehensive mental and behavioral health
services coaching counseling and traumainformed training. Additionally TLC collaborates with
school districts universities hospitals police departments and nonprofit organizations
offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding


The Certified Recovery Specialist will work collaboratively with the Montgomery County Overdose
Response Team (MCORT) which includes Access Services and the Montgomery County Department of
Public Safety (MCDPS) to assist individuals identified as having or at risk for opioid use
disorder (OUD) in entering treatment and successfully navigating recovery after treatment.


Essential Responsibilities:

Provide support to MCORTs crisis response team as requested.
Respond to referrals from MCORT partners within 72 hours in noncrisis situations.
Establish rapport with individuals identified as having or atrisk for OUD by MCORT
partners.
Provide peer support education and information on treatment options harm reduction
strategies and community recovery resources.
Work to motivate and encourage individuals to seek treatment who previously declined MCORTs
efforts to connect them with treatment.
Assist individuals in removing barriers to treatment.
Provide a warm handoff to assist individuals in accessing treatment services including
medicationassisted treatment detoxification inpatient and outpatient services and recovery
housing as appropriate.
Serve as a liaison between MCORT partners first responders and recovery


support services.
Provide continued peer support as individuals transition from acute care to longerterm
treatment and recovery services.
Conduct followup contacts to support treatment engagement retention and relapse
prevention.
Receive referrals from MCORT partners for individuals currently enrolled in treatment to support
their recovery.
Assist individuals who have successfully completed treatment in navigating their recovery
including finding outpatient treatment and support group options.
Connect individuals who have completed recovery to supportive services.
Maintain case notes and accurate documentation of services provided.
Participate in case reviews and care coordination meetings with MCORT partners.
Work evenings and weekends as needed.

Education & Experience

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED with preference given to individuals with a
Bachelors degree.
Current Certified Recovery Specialist credential through the Pennsylvania Certification Board
must maintain current and active certification throughout employment.
Trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
Lived experience with opioid use disorder strongly preferred.
Experience working with individuals in crisis strongly preferred.

Work Hours:

This is a fulltime position.
