Under the direction of the Executive Director the Fiscal Services Support Senior Specialist is responsible for the delivery of fiscal operations support services to educational entities associated with the NEOnet consortium. This job has a FLSA status of Exempt.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and enhance an understanding of the current fiscal software programs.
- Provide rapid detection and solution for fiscal software inquiries and effective means of trouble-shooting user questions concerns and needs.
- Plan and deliver training for users on current fiscal software programs and applications.
- Act as primary contact between school district personnel and NEOnet regarding related questions and issues.
- The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures including consulting with users to determine hardware software or system functional specifications
- Develop a working knowledge of all current fiscal software applications outside the current fiscal package to serve as backup to other NEOnet fiscal services staff members.
- Keep users notified of changes and/or updates to the current fiscal software applications.
- Prepare write and distribute documentation as necessary to provide effective professional development training and support for users.
- Develop various software procedures as needed by NEOnet and school district personnel.
- Organize special projects for consortium members and assist Fiscal Liaisons/Specialists in the completion of such including but not limited to; payroll processing W2/1099 preparation 5 Year Forecast submission salary notice/mid-year contract change assistance monthly quarterly and annual financial statement balancing and EMIS/Staff data work.
- Evaluate present to consortium members and implement new fiscal software programs and applications.
- Self-reliantly work to aid the fiscal team in the preparation and implementation of NEOnet quarterly newsletters annual continuous improvement plans and independent professional development maintenance.
- Has a working knowledge of the operating system.
- Develop and fulfill user defined reports and data requests.
- Monitor that financial data back up and maintained and serve as backup to other fiscal staff.
- Stay informed of technology trends and changes.
- Has the necessary skills to implement services for a new district.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and understand software documentation to develop instructional materials as needed to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.
- Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
- Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
- Provide problem-solving initiative; cultivate resources available from other OECN sites the Ohio Department of Education and associated commercial vendors.
- Familiarity with various computer systems and ability to use associated computer equipment.
- Ability to communicate with other employees and train others in the use of computer equipment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two-year college degree or equivalent business experience.
- 7 or more years of experience with fiscal software and related third party software.
- Proficient knowledge of spreadsheet word processing software and operating systems.
- Ability to use software tools to perform needed tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with professional development organizations attendance at FAAST meetings and OEDSA conference.
