Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education experience and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current employee of the School District of Lee County.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate.
  • Experience working with children in a group or educational setting.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of and experience with organizing student activities and events.
  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and school personnel.
  • Ability to relate to and inspire confidence in students.
  • Ability to administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness injury or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Typical duties include but are not limited to
  • Implement structured activities including academic support arts and crafts games and physical play.
  • Supervise students before and/or after regular school hours in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Promote positive behavior social development and respectful interactions among students.
  • Set up and clean up program areas and materials daily.
  • Report all accidents immediately to the Program Director.
  • Communicate effectively with students staff and parents or guardians as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
