Job Summary

Carolina Center for Specialty Surgery (CCSS) is seeking a Full-Time Prior Authorization/Pre-Cert Coordinator(non-clinical) in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. CCSS is affiliated with Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates which has been established as a private medical practice for over 75 years and currently has been recognized as one of Charlotte and North Carolinas Top Workplaces.

Experience in processing pre-certifications for surgeries in an office hospital or ASC setting is required. This is an revenue cycle position - not a clinical position. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a similar role. Must have the ability to multi-task adjust to shifting priorities while remaining productive and have a high degree of accuracy. Must follow-through document stay attentive to details and have excellent phone skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and work closely with the CCSS business team to achieve timely pre-certification authorizations.
  • Communicates with insurance companies to obtain pre-certification authorizations for surgeries imaging studies procedures etc.
  • Completes benefit verifications and estimations as needed
  • Demonstrates persistence when responding to denials from insurance carriers.
  • Researches reads and understands policies and rules set forth by insurance plans regarding patient benefits.
  • Provides detailed documentation in EMR regarding eligibility benefits and authorization information.
  • Understands medical terminology.
  • Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
  • Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.
