Job Summary

The Employee Relations and Compliance Partner will provide practical timely support advice and direction to the Afrika Tikkun workforce on the full life cycle of HR and ER activities. Activities and support include general Human Resource support Talent Acquisition and management Employee Relations and Administration support HR policy and procedures interpretation Performance Management support as well as compensation and benefits practices to the organisations business units. Furthermore the incumbent will be facilitating and coordinating best HR practices in employee engagement activities and responsible for providing a sound employee relations service to the organisation as well as advising Line Management on the application of the organisations disciplinary and grievance procedures thus ensuring harmonious Employee Relations are maintained within all business units of the organisation


Required Skills:

ER Consultation:

  • Identify and/or evaluate causes of conflict and propose appropriate corrective action
  • Represent Afrika Tikkun at the CCMA in Conciliation and Arbitration matters
  • In conjunction with the Legal Team facilitate and oversee any litigations emanating from employee relations
  • Provide support to management and staff in managingperformance and assist in the analysis of plans to resolve any identified performance problems
  • Monitor the labour relations practices of all divisions
  • Monitor developments within the labour relations fieldand advise on best labour relations practices
  • Assist Management with Benchmarking salaries
  • Facilitate the resolution of formal grievances
  • Handle disciplinary matters at Afrika Tikkun by following due process

Performance Management:

  • Track and manage the Performance Management componentsin order to maximize employee performance
  • Ensure that performance reviews are carried out as required; for example
  • Ongoing reinforcement of performance management as a tool to support performance and to provide line management with support and guidance to effect this
  • Facilitate and report on individual development plan and update of succession plans
  • Facilitate development and retention of staff through the creation and monitoring of Individual plans for employees
  • Ensurethatall assessmentscoordinated withline managers are filed and loaded onto SharePoint
  • Manage and support all Poor Performance Management processes

Systems Management and Reporting:

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive IR administration system
  • Maintain an up-to-date information management system of all IR related information
  • Produce reports on IR trends or activities throughout the organization
  • Monitor internal labour relations trends and submit relevant reports
  • Remain apprised of all changes or relevant news and provide analysis and report on same.

HR Projects:

  • Assist in facilitating special HR projects and audits as and when required
  • Assist with other adhoc duties as and when required
