Summary of This Role
Responsible for designing implementing and maintaining Windows systems in company environments. This includes all approved vendor hardware and software for enabling the developmental operational and production support groups to perform their assigned tasks. Serves as a technical resource for the company and is responsible for resolving issues with the hardware and software used at company installations.
What Part Will You Play
- Applies system knowledge both physical and logical in leading deployment readiness assessment reviews. Evaluates and decides asset changes and associated implementation documentations to ensure criteria are satisfied to qualify for deployment to target environments and ensures associated task have been properly incorporated as part of the deployment plan. Assesses the progress and effectiveness of the test efforts based on application changes. Ensures appropriate testing levels have been completed prior to deployment to target environments. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for deployment activities in walkthrough meetings by identifying any conflicts with proposed changes. Analyzes potential overall system impact of work items and communicates risk to the affected areas and appropriate channels.
- Liaison for deployment related processes and policies with other departments and divisions. Works with key stakeholders to recommend best practices and addresses complex and challenging queries. Provides guidance mentors and trains team members and stakeholders. Demonstrates proficiency to perform and lead complex operational assignments based on high level requirements. Provides input in defining internal initiatives to improve processes. Works with various automation products and tools and ensures software is adjusted to meet the need.
- Follows established procedures to execute deployment escalation and back out activities for assigned systems. Assists with the development training and compliance monitoring of these procedures. Makes recommendations impacting the technical operational and business aspects of deployments. May serve as a central contact point for deployment issues to build consensus among appropriate key stakeholders on corrective actions needed to resolve escalated deployment issues.
- Executes and may lead deployment activities implementation tasks and backend validations. Works with various levels of team members across business units to ensure the successful installment of application change assets to all appropriate locations and management of source code. Verifies implementation tasks have been properly completed by other support groups when applicable. Ensures change assets are delivered to target environment and technical implementation task are completed. Oversees asset clean up activities are completed in source environments after deployment to target environments or as part of code back out process.
- Leads and performs triage to troubleshoot problems identified during deployment windows. Utilizes problem solving tools and collaborates across teams to resolve complex technical issues with deployed assets. May execute corrective actions for root causes not related to application coding and may provide guidance to appropriate members to resolve problems determined to be related to coding and/or change.
- Develops prepares and approves software documentation used for planning scheduling tracking and reporting on deployments. Verifies documentation convey assets deployed deployment activities sequence of events implementation tasks issues encountered and problem resolutions.
- Participates in and may lead deployment assessment and planning meetings for scheduled and exception releases with Information Technology (IT) stakeholders. Executes and may lead assignments for meeting preparation prepares documentation and provides recommendations actively contributes in discussions and ensures enforcement of final decisions. Assists with the production of the Release Calendar for assigned platforms taking into consideration impacts of time zones All System Outage (ASO) schedules Holidays and Compliance requirements.
- Provides estimates of work effort to execute implementation tasks. Provides recommendations for decisions relating to work volumes highlighting areas of concern and consulting where applicable. Oversees the code unbundling process and changes being introduced into the Emergency environments.
